Margot Robbie responds to Lady Gaga portraying Harley Quinn in "Joker 2"
Margot Robbie, a well-known Hollywood actress known for playing Harley Quin in three movies over the previous six years, has finally spoken out regarding Lady Gaga playing the lead in "Joker 2."
The "Birds of Prey" actress expressed he r excitement about Lady Gaga playing Harley Quinn in the upcoming "Joker" sequel, formally known as "Joker: Folie a Deux," in a video interview.
In a statement to MTV News, Robbie stated, "I'm very delighted because I've said from the beginning that all I want for Harley Quinn to be one of those characters the way....
like Macbeth or Batman always gets transferred from great actor to great actor." "Someone gets to play their Macbeth or their Batman," someone said.
"I feel like there aren't female characters in that many stories," Robbie continued, "but beyond Queen Elizabeth I, I got to have a try at it as well, and I was honoured to do.
I thought, "Wow! King Elizabeth I was played by Cate Blanchett. I now get to. It's an honour to have established a foundation that makes Harley one of those roles that other actors can try for a period of time. And I have no doubt that she'll use it in an amazing way.
In the 2016 film "Suicide Squad," the 2020 film "Birds of Prey," and James Gunn's "The Suicide Squad," Robbie portrayed Harley. The actress's upcoming films include "Babylon," "Barbie," and "Asteroid City."
Along with Oscar winner Joaquin Phoenix, Zazie Beetz, Brendan Gleeson, Catherine Keener, and Jacob Lofland, "Joker: Folie a Deux" will also include these other actors. The movie will have its theatrical debut on October 4, 2024.
