UFC 279’s main event is in question when Chimaev fails to make weight

For his fight against Nate Diaz in Saturday’s main event of UFC 279 in Las Vegas, the UFC contender failed to make weight on his first attempt.
Chimaev weighed in 7.5 pounds over the welterweight limit at 178.5 pounds, well over the weight cutoff. Diaz gained weight in the meanwhile, weighing in at 171 pounds.
